brochure
for the brochure we had to create our own A5 pages with our work and it was our choice whether we wanted to have 1 piece of work or a small collection of pieces. i chose to use 4 different pieces of work from different projects so the reader could get a good view on the type of work i am capable of. there is a mix of 2nd and 3rd year work but one recurring theme i have noticed is i like white backgrounds and for my work to look clean and fresh.
we also had to write a small introduction about ourselves and i fund this quite challenging so i started going through artists websites to see what they had said about themselves. most of them are just promoting their own and what websites sponsor them but some people did have brief introductions about themselves which i found helpful to be able to write something about me without sounding like a tw*t.

BA meeting
We had a meeting with Sue and the BA's which andrew said he was going to turn up to but couldn't due to meetings but luckily we had shirley with us who backed us up with some comments. They pitched their branding posters and show reels that went with their posters, instead of working individually they had worked together in groups to create their pieces. I personally didn't like their work, the only work that was ok was hayleys, but it was a concept that has been done too many times (splitting images in half to create something new) the other ideas where medicine bottles ( please explain the digital media element their???) and super heroes (also nothing to do with our work). none of the work was finished enough or tidy enough to even think about using 2ish weeks before our show was due to start. The problem our class had was that if they wanted all these changes we weren't prepared to do another load of work to re-plan an entire show! which andrew agreed with. as far as we were concerned we had done way our brief had asked us to do and we were all happy with the way our show plans had come about. Sue said we should vote on what idea we wanted to go with and this caused a lot of uproar with the BA's who all moaned our class would pick the work which we had produced and of course we would back up our own idea which was finished and was ready to go with compared to not even nearly half finished pieces. We took our invitations down to show the BA's what our work looked like and also andrew put our work up on the board for them to see. Sue had mentioned about our show reel but Dan mole wasn't it to say anything about it.
When we started expelling our ideas the BA's were annoyed we had gone with printed invitations instead of sending an email around ( they cost under £30 to print) which was something stupid like £1.50 each so i did get a bit annoyed they were being so fickle. Then one of the BA's shouted at Gina (obviously annoyed she couldn't get what she wanted and took it out on gina for no reason) Another comment was one of the names had been written in a full name instead of a nick name which really is not a big deal and it is printed small so its not like it matters, we each have our own business cards expelling who we are so does it matter what is written on 1 poster! (aloud of fuss for nothing again being fickle)
Sue had asked why we were so far advanced in all our of plans and we had said that andrew had given us the go ahead due to the show being so soon. which she didn't look to happy about but how are you meant to plan a show in 2 weeks?
In the end the BA's decided ours would be the best idea to use due to it being finished and it wouldn't be any more work due to them still having to finish their own websites. There were a few moans and groans that they did all that work for nothing but as sue pointed out it was part of their brief so it had to be done regardless of what idea got picked.

personal professional development
As part of our brief we have to advertise ourselves professional and when i first knew we had to have our own online portfolio in website form i thought it was going to be really difficult to code a website as i had a lot of trouble in the first year with mine. after talking to Andrew he said this could be done via another platform and eventually we could buy the domain and have the URL to ourselves instead of having the domain name so i decided to use tumblr as my website. firstly i started by creating an account and then choosing "Chloe Honeysett Design" as my title. i chose to go with blues and greens as these are my favourite colours and also they are flaming happy colours to look at. ins tea dog being to bright and making you want to look away from the page. i created the graduate fade in illustrator and saved that as a pdf to use of the side bar of my website ( picture shown below) the other half of the website is a light green colour which matches the gradient nicely. I'm really pleased with the way it has turned out and the only thing i need to do is finish adding my work onto the website.

looking at the brief submission
looking at the brief we have to submit 2 pieces of printed work and also 2 pieces of motion graphics,i knew straight away what motion graphics i wanted to use and these where the ones i was most proud of, finding 2 pieces of print work to submit was a lot harder as i am proud of a few of my print pieces.
i ended up looking closely at all of my uni work i have produced over the last 2 years and decided my YCN pieces where my favourite and now i had the task to try and choose 2 i was most proud of.
this was my favourite out of al my posters but because i had such an issue with the type and the 'G' looking more like a 'T' this just wasn't an option i was happy to print.

these are the 2 printed submissions i put forward as i felt they were also strong pieces and they link together nicely with the art style.
the two move i submitted where my alcohol app and my grow your won food animation both of which have different art styles but are effective with the style they have. i am happy with all of these submissions.

business card
this is my finished design on my business card. i drew my illustration on illustrator, and used a scarf instead of drawing clothes. i started using pink as my main colour as this is my favourite colour and then i felt having a pink scarf would be to much and a lilac would contrast really nicely. i used a curly font for my name as i wanted this to be the stand out piece and then a easy readable but still quirky font for the rest of my text. i used pink for the name headline and then black for the rest. choosing a background colour was the hardest and i settled with a peachy skin tones colour so it wouldn't look so stark in white. I'm really happy with the way it has turned out and i will be sending it off for printing soon.

inspiration
i found most of my inspiration from this business card, i liked the idea of having a face on one side and then all of the information of the next side. this is similar to how i want my business card to look. this one has been printed on plastic and has a frosted background obviously mine are going to be printed on card so there will be a lot of differences between mine and this one.

business cards
these are some business cards that i have been looking at for inspiration for my business card. i love the iPhone style one i think that it really original and quirky and most people now carry an iPhone than any other so it is distinctive and you know what you are looking it. i like the personal photo on the front which gives the card that personal touch. it is obviously a baby photo of the designer who has created them. this idea is really cool but i don't think this best describes me and who i portray myself.
i love the burger illustration on this business card and the way the mage has its own side with no writing on it. they have used there company logo and matching type on the back and kept it colour printing which looks more expensive! it gives you all the information you need and it cute and pocket size!
this photographic business card caught my eye straight away with it looking like they have been broken in half. with minimal information on the front it gives this card a bit of mystery and you want to turn it over to find out what is on the back of it.
I'm still in the process of designing my business card, and so far i have an idea to design something that involves an illustration of myself with all of my information next to it.
